- William LARGE, gent., of Purton Stoke, Wilts. He lived from 1726/7-1819, and was eldest son of Robert LARGE (1700-1779) by his wife, Jane HALE (1705/6-1764). He married Sarah TELLING (b. ca 1720-1721 bur. 1804), of Minety, Glos. (1742) in 1757, when she was Sarah SHEPPARD, widow of Samuel SHEPPARD (1714-1756), yeoman, of Purton Stoke (whom she had married in 1742 apparently at Leigh in the parish of Ashton Keynes.
William LARGE had no issue by Sarah. Sarah bore her first husband: Thomas SHEPPARD (1744-?), Samuel SHEPPARD, gent., of White Hall, Cricklade, Wilts. (1746-1776), Anne SHEPPARD (1747-1804), firstly Mrs James BATHE, and later Mrs Joseph LARGE.
